.     Iran is reportedly ready to send another monkey into space within the next month.

The daily Jomhuri Eslami quotes the deputy head of Iran’s space agency, Hamid Fazeli, saying the planned launch is part of the country’s plans to send a human to space in 2018.

Fazeli also said that animals with similar weight, such as Persian cats, are also under consideration.

Iran sent its first monkey into space on 28 January of this year and claims it came back alive and well.
