. The Tlalpan administration has signed an agreement with the Pericoapa Marketplace to stop the sale of animals inside the bazaar until a consensus on a proper way to sell the animals is reached.
Until then, the 10 pet stores that currently exist in Pericoapa will only be allowed to sell pet accessories. Anyone who violates the agreement will be immediately suspended.
A panel integrated by the Tlalpan administration, the Profeco, the Sagarpa, the Health Protection Agency and store owners will be created to regulate the future sale of animals.
Animal rights organizations were asked to keep an eye on the whole situation to make sure the new rules are being obeyed by everyone.
