A man from Hong Kong has sparked international outrage after bragging on Facebook that he had put his dog through two washing machine cycles and killed him.
The Facebook user Jacky Lo uploaded several pictures to prove his deed. The small terrier can be seen covered in water in some images, being thrown around and desperate to get out in all of them.
Lo commented in Chinese on one of the photos: “A super quick way to wash a dog: soak, clean, and dry. All done. Clean and quick!” Followed by a smiley icon and the words “feeling content” in English, reported South China Morning Post.
According to Lo, the dog survived the first wash but not the second.
After thousands of complaints, authorities from Tuen Mun, where the man is suspected to live, have started an investigation but no arrests have been made so far.
According to local sources, the 25-year-old’s real name is Luo Jiamin and lives in Guangdong, China.
Lo allegedly fled Hong Kong and escaped to mainland China after knowing he was wanted for animal cruelty. “Wanted?? This afternoon I’m going back to China. See ya later,” Lo posted on his Facebook page along with a link to an online petition with almost 30,000 signatures asking for justice.
If found guilty, Lo could be facing up to three years in prison and a HK$200,000 fine.
