Peruvian Alejandro Ruiz Fonseca has recently found himself under fire for uploading photos of a cat inside a washing machine on his Facebook page.
The images show a white cat spinning inside the machine. The pictures were captioned: ‘Giving the kitten a bath…”
When the images became viral in the country and people started asking authorities to investigate and take him to justice, Ruiz Fonseca started posting that the cat was not real, just a soft toy he had given his girlfriend.
The images clearly show a live animal and Lima authorities are being urged to intervene.
On other related news, three teenagers were caught on CCTV while burning a cat alive inside a car on Friday in Lince, Peru.
“They were teenagers between 13 and 16 years. Good thing it didn’t get worse, it could have been a major tragedy,” said neighbour Walter Sánchez.
Security cameras from a nearby business recorded the cruel act which occurred in broad daylight.
The youngsters can be seen spraying the cat with gasoline, set it on fire, throwing it inside the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Neighbours quickly tried to put out the fire but the cat couldn’t be saved.
The teens were identified and apparently the owner of the car will have a talk with their parents.
