We seem to live in a world where animal products are used unnecessarily in almost EVERYTHING, so coming across vegan and cruelty-free beauty products which actually work seems to be an impossible task. Don’t get me wrong, there are quite a few vegan brands out there specialising in beauty, however, finding them and having the funds to purchase them can prove difficult. So after trying countless different things, I’ve come up with 5 of my favourite non-expensive products I would recommend to anyone – vegan or not!

Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask from Lush
This is by far the best face mask I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. I’ve been re-purchasing this since I discovered it almost 2 years ago and haven’t used anything else since. This is one for those with quite oily and problematic skin and perfect for anyone prone to the odd breakout. It’s full of blueberries and chamomile which flawlessly calms down any irritated skin. It’s lovely to use and smells ah-mazing AND big bonus points for being able to bring back five empty pots and trade them in for a free mask! Click here to shop.

All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray Duo from Urban Decay
Now this was a surprising one for me as until recently I wasn’t aware of Urban Decay selling vegan products. Not all of their products are vegan, however, they do specify this on their website with a full list of which products are vegan and which are not; how great is that? The brand as a whole are completely cruelty free (neither their products nor their ingredients are tested on animals,) which makes Urban Decay a great choice for animal lovers as it is much more easily accessible than a lot of other brands. One of my favourite products from them is the Setting Spray – this works as an incredible alternative to powder (for those who don’t like the look of a completely matte finish) and is really easy to apply. With a few sprays in the morning after applying, my makeup is able to last ALL day, as well as giving the impression of a clearer complexion. It’s a bit pricey at around £20 a bottle, but it lasts forever and is totally worth the purchase. For more information and to purchase this wonder product, click here.

Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss from Urban Decay
Yet another amazing product from Urban Decay is this, which completely converted me from a matte lip lover to a lip gloss coveter. I own a few different colours from this collection and have only positive things to say about all of them. The formula is great; I can apply in the morning and (with the help of some setting spray) I won’t need to re-apply for the whole day. I love the muted colours of these and how they are SO not sticky on application, which is something that put me off wearing lip gloss for a long time. You can have a look at the product more closely here.

Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint from Barry M
I LOVE finding drugstore beauty products which are both vegan and cruelty free. Not all of Barry M products are vegan (some contain beeswax,) however, they are Leaping Bunny verified and have an easy to understand labelling system on their website which allows you to determine which products are free of animal by-products. My favourite product from Barry M has to be their nail polish. I have a number of shades from the Gelly range, including ‘Chai’, a bluey toned grey colour, and ‘Mustard’, which is a beautiful orangey yellow, perfect for summer. These are very easy to apply and only really need one coat; they have amazing colour pay off and will stay on your nails for around 4-5 days – which is great for a drugstore nail polish. I would seriously recommend these to anybody looking for inexpensive nail polish – check them out by clicking here.

Vibrant Lip & Cheek Colour from B. Cosmetics
A relatively new beauty range on the drugstore scene comes from B. Cosmetics. Due to being at such a low-price point, especially for a vegan brand, I figured I would give them a go and alas, haven’t been too impressed with some of their products (I wouldn’t recommend the B. Micellar Water to anyone.) HOWEVER, I was really impressed with their lipstick range, especially these lip and cheek colour sticks which come in a range of shades. I regularly use ‘Fandango’, which is a great bright pinky berry colour. This product works amazingly on both the cheeks and the lips, which is something you don’t normally come across with combination products. I LOVE this product and am a bit too excited to pick up a few more make-up products from the brand – which you can do by clicking this link.

Narrowing this down to only 5 products was harder than I thought – there are a great deal of vegan and cruelty-free products out there which are sold on the high street, it’s just a matter of finding them!
