Ruptly TV – Mosha, a nine-year-old female elephant, was fixed with a new prosthetic leg on Thursday in Lampang. Mosha lost her limb stepping on a landmine in 2006.
The MaeYao National Reserve, which claims to have built the world’s first hospital for elephants, have fixed five prosthetic limbs to the animal since it arrived in 2006, just two days after the accident.
The first prosthetic was fixed in June 2008, when Mosha was just seven months old. Since then she has had to be fitted with bespoke prosthetics as she has grown in size.
