Elf is a hairless breed of cats with curling ear tips, one of the rarest and youngest in the world. These cats have a lean build, a long graceful neck, long limbs with expressive coordination. By nature, elves are very affectionate, friendly, and love children.

History
Elf cats were bred in the USA quite recently. Literally ten years ago, no one could have imagined that such an unusual cat would appear. In 2006, an American breeder and his girlfriend had the idea to create a new breed. After long and painstaking experiments, elves appeared. It is believed that this cat was born as a result of a long and systematic crossing of two breeds of domestic cats.
The American curl and Sphinx are considered the progenitors of the elf breed.
When choosing a name for a new breed, the breeders remembered the fairy–tale creatures - elves, whose feature was unusual ears. Since the representatives of the new breed also have ears that are large and slightly bent back, it was decided to call them elves.
The breed received recognition in the TICA Association in 2007.
Russian elves are bred in a Moscow nursery. An elf can have from 1 to 5 kittens in one litter.
Appearance

- Eyes: almond-shaped; located at a slight angle.

Features of behavior
One of the main characteristics of elves is sociability. These are very affectionate cats, ready to spend endless time with the owner, rub against his legs, follow him around.
Elves are boundlessly fond of children. They can be safely left even with the smallest- Kimi cats will play with them carefully and calmly. Elves have a flexible nature, so they can find an approach and get along with any animals, even dogs.
Elves are very similar in character to their closest relatives – sphinxes. There are similarities with Siamese cats.
Elves do not tolerate loneliness, so the breed will not suit very busy people. And when the owner of the house, the elf does not leave him a step.
Health and Care
There is no thorough data on the health, predisposition to diseases and hereditary diseases in elves yet due to the fact that the breed is very young. Due to the lack of wool, they are prone to colds and infections. Therefore, it is desirable to exclude drafts.
Elf care should be regular. In addition to monthly washing, you need to clean your ears all the time. Between bathing, you can wipe the pet's skin with a damp cloth. If an elf has small areas of fur, then the cat needs a regular haircut. If you do not do this, acne will appear.
