Labrador visited his old home and became a hero of social networks
Cleo is a charming 4–year-old Labrador. When she disappeared, the owners got scared and started looking for her. The dog was found where no one expected: in an old house located 97 km from the new one.
The family, together with the Labrador, moved from their home in Lawson to Oleite. So, they even changed their state of residence – from Missouri to Kansas. But Cleo turned out to be a very conservative dog. When the pet disappeared, the owners began searching from vet clinics and shelters, and also posted ads about the loss on the Internet. But all attempts were unsuccessful.
A week later, Colton Michael, the new owner of the house in Missouri, said that, returning from work, he saw a Labrador at the door. "He just lay there like he was waiting for someone to come to the door," Michael said, speaking to CNN.
The dog did not wear a leash, but at the same time was too well-groomed to be a stray. Michael also noticed that the Labrador had a chip on his neck. Thanks to the chip, it was possible to establish that the dog's name was Cleo, and the owner's surname coincided with the surname of the previous owner of the house. Then Michael found a family on Facebook who lived here 2 years ago, and saw an ad about a missing dog.
"I told them we found their dog. But as soon as I told them where we were, they were speechless," Michael recalls.
Both families stated that Cleo had to cross a bridge with very heavy traffic to get to Missouri. They still don't understand how the dog overcame a distance of about 100 kilometers.
Now the traveler has reunited with her family and is resting in a new home.
