Features of Nobivac vaccines

Nobivac vaccines are manufactured in the Netherlands. They are available in cardboard packages, each of which contains 5 or 10 bottles of glass. One bottle – one vaccination dose. The contents are packed with vacuum, closed with a rubber cap and a metal rim. Different vaccines have a different color rim, which makes them easy to recognize. Since the vaccine is in powder form, it requires a solvent Nobivac Diluent, which is sold separately or comes in a kit.

Nobivak for cats is of four types:

• Triquet Trio,
• Rabies,
• BB,
• Fork.

Nobivak Rabies (Rabies)

This type of Nobivak makes it possible to protect a pet from rabies, a dangerous disease that is transmitted to humans. Rabies is vaccinated for the first time at the age of 3 months, then repeated every year.

Nobivak Rabies is a yellowish or pinkish powder that requires the use of a solvent (saline solution). Rabies injection is done subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

Nobivak BB

This type of Nobivac is the only one that is not used by injection. The prepared composition is injected into the nasal passages of the pet once, it is not necessary to repeat the vaccination throughout life. Nobivak Fork for cats prevents infection with calicivirosis, rhinotracheitis, panleukopenia and chlamydia. According to the instructions, the pale pink powder is mixed with a solvent and injected subcutaneously. After 3-4 weeks, you need to be vaccinated again. Immunity persists for a year, so revaccination is necessary every 12 months. For the first time, the cat is vaccinated at the age of 8-9 weeks, but if necessary, the use of the vaccine in 1.5 months is allowed.

How to prepare a pet for vaccination

You can only vaccinate a completely healthy cat. It is advisable to visit a veterinarian 10-14 days before vaccination, take blood, urine and feces tests. It is mandatory to conduct anthelmintic therapy, and in the presence of external parasites – their complete destruction. If there are other animals in the family, it is recommended to immunize all at the same time.

Contraindications to Nobivac vaccines

It is impossible to vaccinate weakened and sick cats, as well as kittens under the age of 2 months. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is also not recommended to vaccinate a cat. There are no other contraindications to Nobivac vaccines.

How to apply the vaccine

To immunize a cat with the Nobivac vaccine, you first need to prepare a working solution. To do this, the solvent Nobivac Diluent (1 cm3) is collected with a sterile syringe, and then it is injected into a vial with a dry vaccine. After shaking, the solution is ready for use.

• Subcutaneous injection is carried out into the withers of the pet (the area between the shoulder blades), and intramuscular – into the femoral muscle. Before and after the injection, the pet's skin should be treated with alcohol.
• When using Nobivac BB, after filling the syringe with a solution, the needle is replaced with an applicator.

If the procedure takes place at home, you need to adhere to personal security measures. If the solution gets on the mucous membrane or skin, the area is washed with a large amount of running water.

Can there be side effects

All vaccines of the Nobivac series are safe for the health of the cat. Side effects may occur if the animal is hypersensitive, weakened, or preparation for vaccination has not been carried out thoroughly enough. In this case, the following manifestations are possible:

• weakness, lethargy;
• temperature rise;
• refusal to eat.

A frequent phenomenon is the development of swelling at the injection site. All side effects, as a rule, pass within 2-3 days without special treatment.

Features of vaccine storage

Dry vaccine is kept in a place protected from sunlight. Storage temperature – 2-8 C. The temperature regime for Diluent solvent is 3-24 C. The duration of storage of drugs is from one month, depending on the type (indicated on the package).

The diluted Nobivac vaccine, intended for the immunization of cats, is suitable for use within half an hour after the preparation of the solution. After this time, it cannot be used for vaccination. Also, you can not use a composition that has changed color, contains impurities or forms flakes. Preparations with broken bottle sealing or expired shelf life are not suitable for use.

Disposal is carried out by boiling the bottle with the contents for 20-30 minutes. After that, the bottle does not pose a danger to the environment and can be thrown away together with household waste.

How long does immunity take to form and how long does it last

It is very important to vaccinate a pet according to a certain scheme, without missing the next vaccination, since in most cases immunity to the disease is not developed or develops insufficiently. Thus, the immune system's resistance to rhinotracheitis, calicivirosis and panleukopenia begins to form approximately 10 days after repeated vaccination. At the same time, immunity against panleukopenia lasts for about three years, and rhinotracheitis and calicivirosis – for a year.

A single injection of Rabies Rabies vaccination leads to the formation of immunity after three weeks. The result of immunization lasts up to 1-3 years. The use of Nobivac BB causes an immune response after 3 days, but its duration has not been sufficiently studied.

Is it possible to put several vaccines at once

It is impossible to put several vaccinations at once. Only simultaneous vaccination of Triket Trio and Rabies is allowed. However, they must be supplied with different syringes, mixing solutions is unacceptable.
